My hope is that someday, when one of his kids dies from a genetic disorder, or a failed organ or something, he'll come to the realization that "god works in mysterious ways" is a form of denial.

It's all about driving a wedge. The more I can do to help that wedge grow, the more I've done for humanity.

Unfortunately, I fear it's too late. The intervention must take place before the religious person has had the opportunity to reproduce and teach their offspring that they should believe that god exists because daddy believes god exists because daddy's daddy believed god exists, repeat ad nauseam until the point in time when the religion of that persons ancestors emerged victorious in the battle of the fairy tales.

I really could care less what people do in their spare time, but religious people are incapable of separating dogma from public policy, and as such, they're a personal threat to me.

Another small fact is that I'm writing a book on science and religion, and every time I do battle with Andrew it's one more insight into the mind of a truly indoctrinated person. It is a useful experience.

What is it with religion discussions and work? It's been like the atheist diaries around here lately between a certain loud, WoW playing atheist and his quiet, religious co-worker. I don't know why they bother because there is a 0% chance either one of them will 1) convince the other person of anything and b)see the other person as anything but hopelessly misguided
